Elizabethton’s Broad Street Bridge goes back in service Wednesday

TDOT Commissioner Butch Eley is one of the dignitaries expected to appear at a ceremony in Elizabethton on Wednesday that signals a milestone for Carter County in flood recovery.

Local and state leaders will celebrate the reopening of the State Route 67 / Broad Street Bridge at the 3 pm event.

The connector was washed away during Hurricane Helene flooding resulting in changes in traffic flow and having an impact on local businesses in the downtown area.
