Governor selects Deputy Secretary Will Reid as Tennessee’s new highway commissioner

Governor Bill Lee has formally announced the transition to a new Tennessee Transportation Commissioner will take place July 10th when Butch Eley retires and current Deputy Secretary Will Reid inherits the job.
Reid started his career with TDOT 11 years ago with 15 years served as an engineering consultant prior to his hiring.
Reid takes over with two big milestones for TDOT in the works: the continued repairs of highways from Hurricane Helene damage and the development of the state’s first toll road or choice lanes on Interstate 24 in Nashville.
