Manhunt in Oak Grove community of Washington County, Tennessee

Washington County Tennessee Sheriff Keith Sexton says a man who was pulled over for a traffic violation then gained control of a police cruiser is the subject of a manhunt.

The suspect was identified as Michael Edwards, 39, who was last seen with a red t-shirt draped over his handcuffs. Sexton says Edwards is not armed but should not be approached if spotted.

Edwards reportedly stole the police SUV then crashed in the area of Cora Road outside of Boones Creek in the Oak Grove community. The TBI and Tennessee Highway Patrol have boots on the ground and officers in the air in the manhunt to find Edwards.

Residents who spot the suspect can call 911 to report that information.
