Bristol Virginia policeman gets hand slashed by suspect near Commonwealth

A Bristol Virginia policeman required medical treatment after a man with active arrest warrants slashed his hand with a knife when he resisted arrest.
The officer spotted 36-year-old Matthew Moore while on foot patrol near Commonwealth after 10 am Wednesday.
After injuring the officer, Moore ran off but was caught at the corner of Volunteer Pkwy and Shelby St by other Virginia officers who were assisted by Bristol Tennessee policemen.
Moore faces new charges of assault and battery on an officer and obstruction of justice. He will appear in Tennessee court for extradition hearings.
The BVPD policeman, who was not identified in the report, was treated and released from a local hospital.
