EO Companies purchases former Abingdon Food City building.

A Southwest Virginia non-profit is once again expanding with a new project. EO Companies has purchased two properties off of Exit 17 in Washington County, Virginia, including the former Food City building and an adjacent one-acre lot. Officials said they plan to create a mixed-use space for community gatherings and events, with the goal to improve community connectivity. The project is estimated to cost between 20 and $40 million and is expected to take between 1 and 2 years to complete.
