Bristol Virginia officer helps out a mom stranded on the street

Bristol Virginia police placed one of their officers in the social media spotlight after he displayed compassion and help to a mother in need.
The report said Officer Dustin Widener noticed a female driver apparently stranded on the highway. His intuition was correct—-a mom with two babies under the age of 2 and an empty gas tank with no money for fuel because of unexpected bills.
The agency said Widener bought a gas can, filled it up using his own money and took it back to the resident’s car to make sure the mother of two could make it home. The statement concluded with a compliment to Widener and others like him that serve and protect.
