Man charged with assault, kidnapping and child abuse after Johnson City domestic fight

A Johnson City woman told police that she and her child were physically assaulted during a domestic fight that resulted in one arrest.

20-year-old Anthony Springfield is accused of choking the victim then pushing the head of the child into a wall when the juvenile tried to climb onto Springfield and stop the attack.

A city report also said Springfield prevented the two from leaving the house and took away her cell phone. The pair ran away from the home on Washington Avenue and called police.

Springfield was taken to jail after he was charged with aggravated kidnapping and assault plus child abuse and neglect along with one count of interference with emergency calls.
