Carter County Landfill fire update: Landfill closed Friday

Multiple fire crews responded to a fire at the Carter County Landfill Thursday morning just before 5 a.m. A large fire was brought under control in the demolition drop-off at the landfill. No injuries were reported and officials say the fire could smolder for days. And investigation is underway, but fire officials think the blaze may have self started. A release Friday morning from Carter County said the landfill will be closed for the day.
