Jamaican man, removed from U.S. twice, sentenced to prison

A Jamaican citizen, living in Johnson City, who has been removed from the United States twice, was sentenced to more than 24 years in prison on drug charges. 45 year old, Courtney Sterling, was sentenced to 292 months Wednesday, with 10 years supervised release when his sentence ends. The indictment charged him with conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm as an illegal alien and aggravated re-entry. A search of Sterling’s home at the time of his arrest resulted in 11 pounds of methamphetamine, 2.5 pounds of cocaine, large sums of cash and firearms. Co-defendant, 37-year-old Heather Ward of Johnson City was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday. Another co-defendant, 41-year-old MJ Adams of Johnson City is set to be sentenced in February.
