Mountain City driver jailed for fourth DUI following Church Street collision

A Mountain City police report says a reckless driver nearly caused a serious crash while speeding through town and swerving into the opposite lane before finally coming to a stop.

Antonio Cardenas is facing six charges including his fourth DUI after running one vehicle off the highway then crashing into the back of a car stopped at a Church Street red light and pushing it through the intersection.

Cardenas’ vehicle came to a stop inside a supermarket parking lot where he was taken into custody.
