Report: Johnson City ranks second in the US as sought-after new hometown
Johnson City has been named as the second most-sought after city for new residents in the US, according to a new survey published by US News & World Report.
The city’s popularity falls in line with recent population growth numbers for the state over the past decade. By the end of 2026, Tennessee’s population is expected to grow by 1.5 percent and could grow to 3 percent by 2028 according to real estate experts.
Tennessee was named no. 6 in popular move-in states; South Carolina was no. 1 followed by Idaho, Alaska and North Carolina.
