Carter Family Fold Executive Director Rita Forrester stepping down

Carter Family Fold executive director Rita Forrester is stepping down from her post to concentrate on family and health matters, according to a statement issued by the music venue on social media.

Forrester took up the torch for her family’s musical heritage and educated the public on the impact the Carter Family had on music worldwide after her mother Janette, daughter of AP & Sara, retired from that post.

Forrester also focused on fund raising for the non-profit performance venue, including securing state grant funding to install new seating at the Fold due to hold the growing audiences that come from around the US and beyond to hear old-time mountain music.
