TBI says Mooresburg man sent text messages to himself for a set-up of a Bean Station detective
A Hawkins County man created an account on a text messaging service then sent fabricated messages to himself as part of his plan to frame a police officer, according to the TBI.
Kevin Holliman, Jr., 24, of Mooresburg was arrested after his indictment by a grand jury on two counts of tampering with evidence and false reporting following the agency’s investigation.
Holliman claimed he was receiving threatening text messages from a Bean Station Police Department detective but the TBI claims Holliman created a TextNow account to carry out his plan.
The TBI said in a statement an investigation into Holliman’s allegations began in November at the request of District Attorney Dan Armstrong. Holliman was jailed Wednesday and was issued a $20,000 bond.
