Virginia’s longest living trooper dies at 102
Funeral services were held in Mechanicsville for Virginia’s longest living trooper Robert “Rock” Howard who died last week at the age of 102.
Howard joined the bureau in Richmond in 1951 and served 33 years in state law enforcement. State Police Headquarters hosted Howard two years ago for his 100th birthday and given special recognition by the agency.
The VSP report said Howard will be laid to rest in his patrol uniform at a later date.
