$1 million marijuana march: Bristol, State Police collect pounds of pot in store searches
More than $1 million in street value marijuana was recovered by state and local police at a Bristol warehouse while hundreds of thousands of dollars in cannabis were seized at area smoke shops and personal homes.
The report from the Virginia State Police said those drugs were collected after serving search warrants at different locations with officers from Russell County, Bristol and the Holston River Task Force involved. The state report said the warehouse haul also included 192 marijuana plants and $22,000 worth of THC gummy products. They noted 3 pounds of cannabis with a street value of $13,500 was taken from a store on Euclid Avenue that is within a school zone and a childcare facility.
Charges are pending in the case, with criminal warrants likely, and civil penalties are being looked at by the Attorney General’s Office.
