Four in custody after series of shoplifting incidents in two states
Washington County Virginia authorities say they have shut down the suspects involved in a recent chain of retail shoplifting incidents.
A report from the Sheriff’s Office said tips from the public plus work by investigators landed four people behind bars, including Christopher Brown, Heaven Lei Umberger, Deborah Arline Ball and Jonathan Cumbee.
They will likely be charged in other jurisdictions including some in Northeast Tennessee after police said they took items from several Lowe’s Home Improvement stores and the Bristol location of Rural King at Exit 7.
