Retired NFL pro Daniel Kilgore departs Providence for coordinator job at Dobyns Bennett

Kingsport City Schools announced the hiring of former Dobyns Bennett High standout and NFL pro Daniel Kilgore as the Tribe’s new football offensive coordinator.

It’s a homecoming for Kilgore, a 2006 graduate of the Kingsport school, who was recently the head coach at Providence Academy in Johnson City. Kilgore was recruited by Appalachian State where he won two national titles and was a fifth-round draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2011.

DB opens their season on August 21st against Knox Central.
