Investigators in Kingsport say Carter rendered fatal stab wound to father
Documents from law enforcement said murder suspect Levi Carter stabbed his father on Monday evening at the victim’s Kingsport home.
A published report said Carter’s mother called for help after Levi Carter attacked his father Anthony inside the house located on Hickory Street. Police said the suspect used a pocket knife to inflict fatal wounds, resulting in the parent’s death at a local hospital.
Carter is charged with second degree murder and was issued a $500,000 bond. He was the subject of a half-day manhunt that came to an end in a Church Hill parking lot when the stolen truck Carter was driving collided with a policeman’s SUV.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Mt. Carmel Police Department, and the Church Hill Police Department assisted Kingsport authorities in the search, according to a city report.
