Elizabethton adds parade to it’s America 250 celebration
The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department is planning for a full afternoon of fun on Independence Day and has added a patriotic parade in addition to a celebration in honor of America’s 250th birthday. All the events are free and will start in Covered Bridge Park. The patriotic parade will involve honoring veterans with performers and floats that will honor local heroes with the parade route marching down Elk Avenue and ending at the monument. The parade is being funded through a grant from the state of Tennessee.
