Charges filed in Ashe County, North Carolina arson case
A man in neighboring North Carolina is accused of deliberately setting a house on fire located just two miles from the Southwest Virginia border.
Bobby Pennington, Jr., 47, was identified as the suspect following a two-week investigation by the fire marshal’s office. The house in Grassy Creek was destroyed in the blaze that occurred on June 8th in Ashe County.
Pennington is charged with second degree arson, resisting arrest, probation violations and making a false emergency request.
Grassy Creek is located two miles from Mouth of Wilson, Virginia in Grayson County.
