Candidate for Washington Co, TN mayor files lawsuit to contest election results

A candidate who ran for Washington County, Tennessee mayor has filed a lawsuit to contest the results of the Aug. 6 election. In the lawsuit, James Reeves, who ran as an independent against Republican incumbent Mayor Joe Grandy, claims that voting machines in multiple precincts malfunctioned. According to the certified election results, Reeves lost to Grandy by 357 votes. Reeves is contesting those results, claiming there were inconsistencies with the vote. In the lawsuit, Reeves is asking the court to allow his team to access and examine voting machines and to declare the election void.
