Washington County School Board to consider approval of Ten Commandments display at Sept. 15 meeting
Washington County, Tennessee Board of Education members were shown a mockup of the Ten Commandments and other historical documents that will be displayed in each county school. The new law allows for the display of the Ten Commandments, the first sentence of the second paragraph of the preamble to the Declaration of Independence, and the preamble to the United States Constitution. Washington County Schools Superintendent Jerry Boyd said the board will consider approval of the display’s design at its regular board meeting on Sept. 15.
