Dolly’s footprint to be seen in years to come in Dollywood parks and resort projects

Dollywood President Edward Naughton said officials were blessed with time over the years to discuss with Dolly Parton what the path the park takes after the inevitable arrives.

Many of the projects coming to Dollywood’s parks and resorts, including her tribute exhibits, for at least the next few years will have Dolly’s influence and ideas on them, approving the work prior to her death last month at the age of 80.

Those new projects include a new reflection waterfall area near Thomas Chapel and many other additions not only at the Pigeon Forge theme park but in her hometown of Sevierville.

A walking trail called In Her Shoes will circle the city with stop-off points that track family and career moments.

At the park, the Dolly Parton Experience will have an entrance portal to enhance Dolly’s times and story along with remembrances throughout the campus—all planned with Dolly’s approval.

Naughton also said a video tribute kiosk will be constructed in Wildwood Grove to allow visitors to have memories, feelings, and stories recorded along with a new Dreammaker attraction inspired Dolly’s love of children and the Smoky Mountains.
