Credible threat made against student puts TCAT Elizabethton and others into lockdown
Tennessee Center for Applied Technology President Richard Church confirmed the Elizabethton campus was placed into a soft lockdown and a shelter in place directive was issued after receiving information from Sullivan County officers about a possible threat.
The statement said the law enforcement information indicated it was a credible threat made against one of their students by a non-student.
Church said there was not an active situation or disturbance at any of the Northeast Tennessee campuses and a controlled dismissal of all students started at 11 a.m.
