Trip investigation leads to Morristown West baseball dismissals

Few details have been disclosed, but Morristown West High School essentially had their boys baseball coaching staff dissolved after an investigation.

A statement was issued by Superintendent of Hamblen County Schools Arnold Bunch, giving notice of all assistant coaches with the team being relieved from their duties based on potential allegations involving the team’s trip to a spring break tournament last year and incidents that occurred afterwards.

Two of those coaches are banned from coaching in Hamblen County for three years, according to Bunch, while Head Coach Justin Pickett was told he would not be returning to his position this spring.
