No criminal charges to be filed in connection to August shooting in Gray
An August shooting in a Gray, Tennessee parking lot was self-defense, according to District Attorney Steve Finney in his decision to not criminally charge the man who shot Dalton Spalding, 24, resulting in his death.
Surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts were identical, describing Spalding throwing the shooter to the ground after he claimed he gave his grandfather inside his vehicle a disrespectful look.
The report said Spalding continued his assault, causing the victim’s prosthetic leg to come off. The shooter then opened fire while on the ground, with three shots hitting Spalding in the chest and once in the arm.
