Abingdon cemetery vandalized as police search for vehicle involved

Authorities are asking for the public’s help after an Abingdon cemetery was vandalized early Thursday. Virginia State Police says Forest Hills Memorial Gardens was vandalized sometime between 12:30 and 12:45 a.m. The initial damage estimate exceeds $10,000 and police are looking for a 2016-2018 white Toyota Corolla that drove through the cemetery. The vehicle is believed to have sustained heavy damage to the front end. Anyone with information is asked to call Virginia State Police.
