Abingdon opens it’s Community Kitchen in historic Train Depot
The Town of Abingdon opened its Community Kitchen in the historic Train Depot on Thursday. The new kitchen is designed for farmers, bakers and chefs who need a certified place to work. The Community Kitchen will help to foster entrepreneurship in Abingdon, according to Town Mayor Dwayne Anderson, giving food entrepreneurs and local makers the resources they need to grow, innovate, and contribute to the local economy. He said the new space is designed for those who need a kitchen better equipped for their homemade goods. The Community Kitchen was made possible through a donation from the Wellspring Foundation in Southwest Virginia.
