Bays Mountain Park schedules second prescribed burn
A collection of trails at Bays Mountain Park in Kingsport will be closed during a prescribed burn on the acreage Wednesday.
It’s another round of burn off for the facility that completed its first ever prescribed event last April to draw down the amount of wood and debris on the ground while improving the natural habitat for wildlife.
The select trails are off limits from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Those include: Azalea and Big Oak trails, River Mountain Road east of the Fire Tower to Bays Mountain Road and Woody’s Trail between Big Oak and the Fire Tower.
