Big weekend events in Greeneville will include downtown road closures this weekend

Downtown Greeneville is getting ready for a massive weekend, but drivers need to plan ahead. This Saturday, October 24th, heavy street closures will take effect for the first-ever Appalachian Autumn Festival and the Sundown on Depot Car Show. Starting at midnight Friday night, Academy Street, as well as sections of College, Summer, and East Depot streets will close down through 7:00 PM Saturday. Then, at 7:00 AM Saturday morning, Main Street from McKee to Spencer, plus neighboring blocks of Depot, Summer, and Church streets will shut down until 5:00 PM for the car show. Town officials urge drivers to use alternate routes and watch out for heavy pedestrian traffic.
