Bill seeks to form 15-member task force to address child care in Tennessee
Legislation seeking to create a statewide child care task force in Tennessee is working its way through the General Assembly.
Rep. Patsy Hazlewood and Sen. Becky Massey have introduced bills in their respective chambers that seeks to form a 15-member task force comprised of state lawmakers and department officials, along with individuals that provide high-quality child care services. If signed into law, the task force would be assigned to things like developing plans to increase the availability of affordable, high-quality, accessible child care, along with looking for resources across state departments that could be better utilized to address child care challenges in Tennessee.
Both bills are currently being considered in committee.
