Bristol Lifesaving Crew and Bristol VA city leaders hold meeting

Bristol, Virginia city leaders and members of the Bristol Life Saving Crew met Tuesday evening to discuss the current status and future operations of the organization. The meeting came after the rescue squad’s leadership came to the city last week, warning of their impending closure due to a lack of funds. The meeting was attended by two members of the Bristol, Virginia City Council, city staff, representatives of the Bristol Life Saving Crew, the crew’s certified public accountant and a representative from the Southwest Virginia EMS Council.
City Manager and Attorney Randall Eads said the discussion centered on the crew’s current needs and assistance with planning finances. The group plans to meet again in July.
