Bristol Motor Speedway announces demolition derby championship in October
Bristol Motor Speedway announced on Monday that a new professional demolition derby organization will host its national championship on the track’s infield this October. D.E.M.O., the Demolition Entertainment Motorsports Organization, organized the event. The release said that D.E.M.O. was formed this year to provide an official organization for professional demolition derbies across the United States. More than 500 competitors from across the country are expected to take part in the derby, which organizers have described as “combat motorsports.” The event will take place Oct. 3-6 with registration for competitors and spectator tickets on sale now. The event boasts an overall record purse that exceeds $400,000.
