Bristol TN Planning Commission advances rezoning off of King College Road
The Bristol, Tennessee, Planning Commission approved a proposal to rezone a property off of King College Road to a planned residential district that could bring between 375 and 475 new homes. Almost 100 people attended the meeting, with most voicing concerns about the added traffic from around 475 additional proposed dwellings on the 2 lane road, and siting the extra traffic as a “quality of life” issue. Officials with Ardent Development Group say it would be at least a year before any construction began, and the entire build out would take 5 to 6 years to complete. Every planning commission member in attendance voted in favor of the request, which was described at step one of a 10 or 12-step process. The proposal now goes on to city council on first reading on April 7, followed by a second reading and public comment on May 5.
