Brush Creek development plan moves ahead in Johnson City

The Brush Creek development plan progressed Wednesday as the Johnson City Industrial Development Board unanimously approved an economic impact plan, which includes six phases with five projects. The Burlington Park area plan includes housing units, new retail space, parking and a community park. Earlier this year, the nearly 34-acre area near McKinley Road and West Walnut Street was rezoned to a B-3 Business District. Officials say the new construction, rental properties, and retail shops will provide a tax boost for the city and county. The project plan now heads to the county commission, with the next meeting scheduled for June 3.
