BVPD hires special victims detective and starts criminal warrants unit

Bristol, Virginia police Department has now hired a new special victims detective and started a new criminal warrants unit that will be dedicated to arresting those with outstanding warrants. The unit became operational Tuesday, September 2, and is made up of three officers that will be allowed to pursue those with warrants across state lines. Also, Tuesday, the city’s first special victims detective started in the new position. Detective Chris Capetta’s focus will be on cases involving children or elderly victims and will be working closely with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Virginia.
