Candidacy list for Washington Co., TN Director of Schools seat narrowed to five

Five finalists have been selected to take over as Director of Schools in Washington County, TN.

Tennessee School Board Association Executive Director Dr. Tammy Grissom presented the candidates to the district’s school board last night, which include the following:

*Dr. Gregory Slate, Director of Secondary Schools and Administration for Rockingham County Schools in NC
*Andrew Hare, Principal at Sullivan East High School
*Dr. Kevin Woody, Assistant Superintendent of Roane County, TN Schools
*Dr. Jarrod Adams, Assistant Director for Materials and Operations for Washington County, TN Schools
*Dr. Jerry Boyd, Assistant Commissioner for Materials and Standards & District Operations for the TN Dept. of Education.

Interviews for the five finalists will occur Feb. 17-24 and a new director of schools could be named by next month to take over for retiring Director of Schools Dr. Bill Flanary.
