Candidates announce for upcoming Sullivan County Mayor seat

One day after Sullivan County Mayor Richard Venable announced he would not be seeking re-election, Angie Stanley revealed she would take another turn at running for the office. Stanley ran against Venable in the Republican primary in 2022 and lost by a narrow margin. Also, Sullivan County Commissioner Zane Vanover announced his candidacy for Sullivan County mayor as well. The District 6 county commissioner made his announcement at Bristol Motor Speedway, Monday, Venable announced that he would not seek another term as county mayor. Venable has served as mayor for 15 years and also held the office from 2002 to 2006.
