CARRIE UNDERWOOD REVEALS THAT SHE RECEIVED 50 STITCHES IN HER FACE AFTER TRAGIC FALL
It has been nearly two months since Carrie Underwood suffered a tragic fall on the steps outside of her Nashville home. A statement issued at the time by Underwood’s spokesperson simply stated that the “Something in the Water” singer suffered non-life threatening injuries and that she was treated at the hospital for a broken wrist and cuts and abrasions. The statement added that Underwood’s recovery will “take some time” and that she “appreciates all the prayers and well wishes.”
Underwood canceled her scheduled appearances following the fall and has remained almost silent on social media in the weeks since, leaving fans speculating about the severity of her injuries.
In a year-end letter to her fan club on Sunday, Underwood shared more details of her fall, an event that she called life-changing.
“It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life. In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike that he had put between 40-50 stitches in,” Carrie wrote.
She added that even though she is healing and has “the best” team helping her, she’s not quite looking the same. “I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse.”
Underwood goes on to warn fans that when they finally see her again, she may look different.
“When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different. I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.”
We wish Carrie a full and speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing her back in 2018!
