Curtain closed: Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit to skip Rhythm & Roots Reunion
Musician and Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion headliner Jason Isbell’s reaction to the board of directors’ decision to not require vaccine card checks and negative test results at the gate was blunt and brief.
Isbell’s tweet on social media said, “Not appearing at the Rhythm and Roots Reunion this year,” and, “Y’all be safe!”
Isbell and his band the 400 Unit were scheduled to play Sunday, Sept. 12. It marks the second show Isbell has canceled in the past two weeks. The other was a date in Houston.
Rhythm and Roots organizers announced Wednesday there was not a state mandate that would allow their staff to check vaccination records.
