Deadline to register to vote in Virginia 38th District State Senate special election scheduled for Tuesday
Voters hoping to participate in the 38th District Virginia State Senate special election scheduled for next week have until Tuesday to register to vote.
The election was called earlier this year by Gov. Ralph Northam following the death of former Sen. Ben Chafin, who passed away on Jan. 1 from COVID-19 complications. Republican candidate Travis Hackworth will challenge Democratic candidate Laurie Buchwald with the winner of the election to fill that vacancy left in Sen. Chafin’s death.
The 38th district serves several areas of Southwest Virginia. Those not yet registered to vote can get registered on the VA Dept. of Elections website by clicking here.
