Discussions continue in Bristol on future State Liners field

The Bristol, Tennessee City Council held a work session Thursday to discuss the future of the State Liners baseball team. Last week, the council rescinded an agreement with the city school system and Boyd Sports regarding the usage of Tod Houston Field, which is currently used by the Tennessee High School baseball team. It all stemmed from a disagreement over the school system’s use of the Melrose facility. At the session, the council said it was in favor of selling the Melrose facility to the school system. The council discussed changes to the stadium operating agreement, which would just be between the city and Boyd Sports, which owns the State Liners Appalachian League baseball team. The City Council will meet next Thursday to vote on the changes.
