District Attorney finds no criminal wrongdoing involving Impact Plastics worker fatalities

District Attorney Steve Finney released his findings of an investigation into the death of six workers from Impact Plastics during Hurricane Helene with the company cleared of any criminal misconduct.
Finney took the findings of TBI agents which included security footage from neighboring Nuclear Fuel Service comparing the time Impact Plastics employees were released to go home to the rise of flood waters. Finney’s report said workers had more than an hour to exit the industrial park.
The DA also said workers were not threatened with termination if they left during the hurricane following interviews with more than 20 workers after the event. Finney said the Impact Plastics case is officially closed.
