Elizabethton Wins Statewide Award For Excellence In Governance

A combination of a forward thinking mayor, and council, a professional city manager and hard work from an excellent city staff are just some of the attributes that have resulted in the City of Elizabethton receiving a statewide award for excellence in Governance. Renovations to the city’s downtown district, upgrades to city infrastructure, emergency and public works equipment, and expansions and improvements to municipal parks and recreation facilities were listed as some of Elizabethton’s recent accomplishments. City officials will accept the award from the Tennessee Municipal League in Chattanooga on September 21.
