Fallen Southwest Virginia prison guard to be honored by Department of Corrections
The Virginia Department of Corrections has scheduled a memorial service at Wytheville’s Meeting Center on Tuesday for Master Corrections Officer Jeremy Hall.
The River North guard was killed by an inmate at the Grayson County facility on November 17.
A funeral service for Hall was held Sunday where his wife Dawn Marie addressed the guard’s co-workers, asking them to honor her husband by doing the job the way he did—firm, fair and consistent.
The service will begin at 2 p.m. at the center located at 333 Community Boulevard. The Department of Corrections will offer an online livestream of the event for the general public and it will be published on the DOC’s website and social media outlets.
