Final member of Southwest Virginia drug ring sentenced to 8 years

A Bristol, Virginia man investigated by the DEA has been sent to prison for 8 years following a hearing in Abingdon on federal charges.
Prosecutors said Christopher Sullivan, 31, and a federal inmate, Christopher Johnson, were part of a 20-member conspiracy that sold meth in Southwest Virginia with Johnson orchestrating some of the deals from his cell using smuggled phones and had Sullivan wire money to Mexico and sell their supplies.
Johnson is serving a 20 year sentence in Georgia.
