Former SW Virginia postal worker gets 2 years in prison for stealing medications intended for veterans
A West Virginia woman has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing medications intended for US veteran patients in Southwest Virginia.
Ammie Hale, 46, admitted in US District Court in Abingdon that she took 40 parcels of prescription medications while working at the US Post Office in Tazewell last year.
Prosecutors presented surveillance footage to the court that showed Hale taking the drugs then placing them in her purse.
