Governor proclaims Aug. 18 “Charlie Daniels Day” to help celebrate Volunteer Jam
Governor Bill Lee has proclaimed Aug. 18 as “Charlie Daniels Day” to coincide with the country star’s annual Volunteer Jam concert—a historic musical Tennessee event that dates back to 1974.
Lee said in a statement that he’s proud that country music will continue to preserve Charlie’s legacy with the event that ended its 46-year consecutive streak when Daniels passed away last July following complications from a stroke.
Artists such as Ricky Skaggs, Alabama, and Travis Tritt are among the performers scheduled for the event next week at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
