Greeneville dad charged after son brings, shares THC chocolate with classmates

Some students at a public school in Greeneville had to be medically examined after administrators said a child had brought one of his father’s chocolate bars fused with Delta 8 THC to his room and shared it with classmates.
Police did not disclose how the situation was discovered but officers were dispatched to Highland Elementary and found the candy wrapper with the chocolate.
After an interview with officers, the student’s dad, Lenin Figuero, was charged with child abuse and neglect.
A notice from Highland’s top office said several emergency agencies came to campus to check out each student and the parents of the children were notified.
