Investigation underway after body discovered in debris after house fire
Investigators in Greene County, TN, are looking into what caused a house fire, leaving one person dead. Just after 6 pm on Monday, Greene County 911 received a report of a structure fire on West Pines Road. The call was dispatched as a “house on fire,” with flames and smoke visible. The house was fully engulfed in flames within minutes. First responders from the Newmansville, Fall Branch, Tusculum, and United Volunteer fire departments responded and after bringing the fire under control, discovered a body within the debris. The cause of the fire remains undetermined. The body was sent to the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center for an autopsy and identification.
